Leukaemia, Lymphoma or Myeloma are blood cancers which affect patients at any age, Every year over 1,000 people in Shropshire and Mid Wales are treated for blood cancers. Treatment can last up to 6 months and includes multi- drug Chemotherapy, which is currently given in a small area of an adapted Outpatients Clinic, where space is extremely cramped. The new building will provide :- • A New Day Unit with its own entrance, waiting room and consulting rooms. • A large purpose - built area for patients to receive their Chemotherapy. • Dedicated rooms for bone marrow testing and patients to be seen by specialist nurses. • A more comfortable and private environment for local cancer patients.
